JEFFREY GLEN BURCHAM

Jeffrey Glen Burcham was born May 13, 1959, at Winchester, Virginia. He was educated in the Winchester and Frederick County, Virginia public school system and was graduated from John Handley High School in 1977 with an academic science/language diploma. Brother Burcham subsequently attended The George Washington University at Washington, D.C., from which he was graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and political science in 1981, and Pepperdine University School of Law at Malibu, California, from which he earned a Juris Doctor degree in 1985.

Brother Burcham is a practicing attorney, having been admitted to the State Bars of California, West Virginia and Virginia. He was formerly associated with the law firm of Rodgers & Kiser at Martinsburg, West Virginia from March, 1986 through July, 1989. Thereafter, he was appointed by the Honorable Gaston Caperton, Governor of West Virginia, to serve as the Region 20 Family Law Master for the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, which office he held from August 1, 1989 until December 31, 1992. Since then, he has been engaged in the private practice of law, with emphasis on general civil and criminal litigation. His offices are located at Martinsburg, West Virginia, and he regularly practices in all West Virginia state courts, and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia.

Brother Burcham formerly served on the Board of Governors for the West Virginia State Bar, and is a member of the West Virginia State Bar, the Virginia State Bar (associate member), the California State Bar (inactive member), the Berkeley County (WV) Bar Association, and is a former member of the American Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the West Virginia Family Law Master Association. He is also a member of Phi Delta Phi Honorary Legal Fraternity.

Brother Burcham is married to the former Tammy Lee Nester, and is the father of three daughters, Brittany Nichole Gladden, Miranda Lynn Burcham, and Katherine Elizabeth Burcham. He is a member of the Braddock Street United Methodist Church, the Winchester-Frederick County Historical Society, the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, and is an Admiral of the Cherry River (WV) Navy.

Brother Burcham is a Senior DeMolay and a Past Master Councilor of C. Vernon Eddy Chapter at Winchester, Virginia. He was awarded the Past Master Councilor's Meritorious Service Award and the Blue Honor Key, and formerly served as chairman of the Advisory Council of Missing Link Chapter, I.O.O.D. In 2001, he was decorated with the Legion of Honor (active) by the International Supreme Council. His Masonic record is as follows:
